Hello Research Commitee! Please take a look at a brief survey we created in 2019 for a City of Mpls funded project i.e. We (Are) Here! Journey's in Reslience. It commemorated 400 years of Africans in America.
...It's funny, we keep coming back to things...until we bring it fullcircle.
We'd like to ready the Workplace Wellness survey for the advisory to review at next week's meeting.
Dr. Sue, you mentioned either an OSHA or NIH survey that could be helpful as well...please share as you're able.

Heres a list of some other res[onses to racially motivated experieinces: 🔹 Emotional Responses
Anger or frustration – A common and natural reaction to injustice or being dehumanized.
Sadness, grief, or hopelessness – Especially when these experiences are repeated or systemic.
Fear or anxiety – Concerns about safety or being targeted again.
Shame or embarrassment – Particularly in public or professional settings.
Emotional numbing or detachment – As a form of self-protection, especially if incidents are frequent.
🔹 Cognitive Responses
Self-questioning – "Did that really happen the way I think it did?"
Internalized racism – In some cases, a person may begin to adopt negative stereotypes about their own group.
Heightened awareness or hypervigilance – Always anticipating future racial harm.
Resilience-building thoughts – "I’ve been through this before; I’ll get through it again."
🔹 Behavioral Responses
Confronting the behavior – Speaking up, filing complaints, or taking legal action.
Avoidance or withdrawal – Avoiding certain people, spaces, or institutions that have caused harm.
Code-switching or masking – Adjusting speech, appearance, or behavior to appear "safer" or more acceptable.
Protest or activism – Using the experience to fuel social or political action.
Silence – Choosing not to respond, either to stay safe or out of exhaustion.
🔹 Social Responses
Seeking support – Talking to trusted friends, family, or affinity groups.
Educating others – Turning the experience into a teaching moment.
Isolation – Feeling disconnected from others who don’t understand the experience.
Therapy or counseling – Especially when dealing with trauma or long-term stress.
